Booking During School Holidays

Before You Book

Travelling during the school holidays is the most popular time for families and holiday makers. Booking early is essential to make sure you can secure the vehicle you want and get it at the best price.

For the Christmas and New Year’s Day holiday period, booking 9 to 12 months in advance is recommended so that you can secure the lowest prices. Because availability of campers becomes limited throughout the year when the demand is high, prices will start to increase.

Booking outside the holiday periods can be considerably cheaper compared to the peak periods.

Booking Well In Advance

Special events or festivals will always sell out well in advance, so it is important to book as soon as the event dates are released.

Other holiday periods or long weekends are also very popular, so booking at least 5 to 6 months in advance is suggested.

Booking Close to Pick-Up

When booking close to your travel dates, your first choice of campervan may not be available, and you may need to travel in an alternative vehicle at a higher price.

Availability

When searching DriveNow for a camper, each vehicle will display an availability status of 'instant confirmation' or 'on request'.

Instant confirmation’ means the vehicle is currently available and your booking will be confirmed instantly once you complete the details and accept the terms and conditions of rental. Once your booking has been confirmed, your credit card will be charged the amount displayed on the booking page.

‘On request’ means that DriveNow will contact the campervan provider to check the availability of the vehicle for the booking you have requested. While the booking cannot be confirmed instantly, if your request is submitted in the morning during office hours, our customer service team will usually respond within 2-4 hours to let you know if the vehicle is available. If the request is submitted outside office hours, you can expect a 12-24 hour response time, as our team will need to wait for the response from the campervan provider. Your credit card will not be charged if the vehicle is not available. We will only collect payment once the campervan booking is confirmed.
